Her eye for detail and penchant for creating transcendent experiences has earned her a reputation in the industry as a luxury travel specialist. Always focused, straight-forward, on-time and positive, she is also an inspiring leader and has brought together many teams to achieve the impossible during her career.

9 Years at Aitken Spence

Kokila began her journey in 2007 as a Trainee Executive at Aitken Spence Travels, where she climbed up the ladder through pure dedication, commitment and hard work. Her efforts were recognized in June of 2007 and 2008, when she was nominated as “Employee of the Month”. Alongside her work, her passion for the industry led her to obtain a Diploma in Travel and Tourism from Louis Preston with a distinction.

During her 9+ years at Aitken Spence, Kokila played a pivotal role in developing the company’s market-share in the Middle East, while being the brains behind developing emerging markets such as Bangladesh and the Seychelles. She was also instrumental in securing many prestigious accounts and represented the company at numerous international travel fairs and trade shows.

Inspiration at Abercrombie & Kent

In 2016, Kokila grabbed a great opportunity to be a part of one of the world’s most prestigious luxury travel brands, Abercrombie & Kent, Sri Lanka. She joined as a Senior Assistant Manager in charge of the Company’s MICE division and soon rose to the position of Manager for MICE at Abercrombie & Kent.

At the Company, Kokila gained a wealth of experience working with the crème de la crème of the luxury travel space, always exceeding expectations. She was part of the “A&K Private Jet World Tour” in 2016 and represented the company at many other events. By the time she left in 2018, Kokila was the Cluster Supervisor for USA, Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

Time at Hayleys Tours

At the end of 2018, Hayleys Tours invited Kokila to head the UK and European markets team and she accepted. In her capacity as a Manager she skillfully coordinated and organized the entire operation into a seamless, frictionless machine, which left her overseas principals impressed. She also went above and beyond to develop an overseas flash sales account, which turned out to be an incredible success.

During her time at Haleys Tours, Kokila developed and nurtured a highly self-motivated, spirited and always ready-to-go team, which made work life pleasant and enjoyable for everyone.

Her Next Step

Always looking to the future, Kokila believes that the industry is on the cusp of a resurgence. A new age of travel and discovery that will broaden horizons and bring the world closer together.
